US Federal Income and Spending

Part of being an informed citizen of the United States is to understand in what ways the federal government spends the money it collects, as well as the sources of government revenue. To aid in that understanding, I have provided three basic charts covering overall surplus/deficit, receipts, and expenses for the US federal government. All amounts have been adjusted to 1995 dollars using CPI-U from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
